Chord-card lengths use the written meter denominator: one beat is a quarter note in x/4 and an eighth note in x/8. This does not infer a compound-meter conducting pulse.
Clock, schedule, and synthesis boundaries
The audio clock will be authoritative. A visual timer may display that clock but never advances musical events.
